A celtic jam session is an informal get-together to socialise and share music with others, crossing all social and demographic boundaries. No sheet music or music stands needed, musicians simply come together and learn tunes from each other. It’s a popular custom that has stood the test of time. Celtic Jam continues this tradition. We’re a diverse group of instrumentalists who meet each Wednesday night to play and share tunes we love, at a not-too-fast speed! Ear learning is encouraged, but we also provide sheet music. We also play regular gigs. We’d love to see you there! The introductory workshop allows participants to learn a tune by ear slowly, and play through other tunes from our repertoire slowly (with or without music), especially for those who are new to celtic music, to ear-learning, or to playing an instrument.
